My CrossFit journey

What happens when you run a Social page promoting downtown businesses? You eat at local restaurants. What happens when you eat at local restaurants that has amazing food? You gain weight.

My weight has been an issue ever since the birth of my third child. I tried different workouts. But usually my schedule and lack of results would keep me. And plus, I am lazy. Y’all, I mean lazy.

Enter Four Barrel CrossFit. Their schedule is great and has a lot of options. And it fit my schedule. “Life” still keeps me from going as much as I would like, but there are definitely more options.

So how did my month go?

In the month I went there was Thanksgiving and two weeks of the flu circulating around the house. So much fun. So of course I was not able to go as much as I wanted to, but that’s ok. I still saw results.

Y’all. I eat so bad. You see it. For Pete’s sake I had a grilled cheese stuffed with Mac and cheese. No regrets y’all. In the four weeks I went, my body became more toned. I would catch myself rubbing my back and butt because it was tight. I even caught my butt in the mirror and gave myself a “hey girl”. I did lose some weight. Four pounds. That may not seem like a lot but it really is. Considering how awful I eat. But the most noticeable difference was my body. Last month I bought the wrong size underwear. When I put them on and realized I bought the wrong size my muffin top was overflowing. There was no way. Of course I was too lazy to return them so there they sat in my drawer, moking me. Well guess what y’all, I wore them today. What what???

So in conclusion, I recommend CrossFit. More importantly Four Barrel CrossFit. I needed someone to make me do the work. I can’t just walk into a gym and expect to know what to do with all that stuff. And there’s no way I would have pushed myself on my own. The coaches are great. So are the members. They always encourage you to keep going.

I’ll admit, I used to make fun of CrossFit. Like if you CrossFit and don’t check in, do you really CrossFit? But now I get it. It’s addicting. It’s fun. It works. And I’m proud of myself when I complete a workout. Ain’t no shame in my check in game.

FYI- if you want to try it out, the first week is free. Can’t lose.

New year, new you!

I just joined the New year challenge (Kelly) so message me if you want to join me!
