Over 4,000 likes!!!

Wow. I never thought I would see this day. We have over 4,000 likes. And 1,900 followers on Instagram.

If you told me a year ago when I started this page that we would have this many followers, and even T-shirt’s with our name on it, I would have told you that you’re high. But here we are.

I started this page because I felt that it was needed. We needed social media presence to show how awesome our city is. Not just a page that shares posts. We are out there. We buy local. We eat local. We definitely drink local. Those pictures, that’s what we are truly eating, drinking and buying.

We still have so much to do. Unfortunately we have cliques in New Albany. Some businesses won’t even give us the time of day. Won’t even give us a like. That’s ok. We now know it is their loss. My hope is that one day we can fight through these cliques. Including with our city government. Unfortunately they do not acknowledge our existence either.

But that’s ok! I’m not here to bash. I’m here to celebrate!

We owe this all to you all! Our followers. You all comment, like, share! You all are the best! Thank you!

Thank you to the bussinesses that have supported us. Appreciated us.

Thank you to Beth who not only contributes enormously to the page, but gets to hear me rant when I’m upset. That’s not an easy job.

Longboards Taco & Tiki Soft Opening

I have been waiting for this moment for what, almost a year?

It’s finally time! I was so fortunate to be able to go to the soft opening tonight. And it was everything I wanted and more.

Let’s start with the drinks! (Of course)

The frozen house margarita

Creamy Colada

If I had to pick, the frozen margarita. But y’all know how I feel about my frozen drinks. The Creamy Colada was delicious, nice dessert drink.

Now the food.
Chile Quillies

As if Guacamole wasn’t extra enough, Longboards has made their quac extra extra. This extra girl loved it, and so did my guacamole loving toddler. The chips are different. I’m a fan for sure, my husband not so much.

The Chile Quillies- amazing. It was something I wouldn’t normally order but I wanted to try something different. No regrets.

Now the tacos....

We tried the Korean BBQ, Carne Asada and the Mahi Mahi. All perfection. Choosing one would be like choosing my favorite child. But if I had to, the Mahi Mahi. My first bite was one of those moments that you almost cry because it’s so good. What? You all don’t cry over food? I love food that much. Especially tacos.

The best for last. I’m serious.

The house made churros with miso caramel. Y’all I can’t. Thank you Wrege for making sure we ordered these. Definitely my favorite.

Food: A+
Atmosphere: A+
Drinks: A+
Service: A+

We did have to wait a little bit for our food, but it was a soft opening. It takes time for new places to get in their rhythm. If I see anyone give a bad review on a new restaurant for waiting, well you can just suck it.

Make sure you take a bathroom selfie!
